Diverse Audiences' Impact

Friday 17 Nov 2017
13:10-14:25
7F Uranus

Session Concept:
This session will explore that people from all backgrounds deserve to be exposed to and interact with science throughout their lives—from a moment of personal inspiration, to joining others in a citizen science experience, to visiting our science centres. These connections can bring thousands to their feet, create a movement that joins diverse people and cultures together, or bring about the greatest of all - uniting nations through creative expression, not politics or conflict. Science can be a vehicle to spark conversations, to spur social change and to make our communities strong, healthy, and above all equitable. The panel hopes to build a community that prioritises access to science resources for all of the world’s people. Tackling the issue of equity and inclusion requires commitment, respect, patience, determination, and flexibility.
